Thyme: Protect
When I think about the amount of chaos present in so many facets of our lives, protection comes to mind. Whether it’s protecting our physical body, our minds, our spirit, or our time, there are so many things that we still hold dear that are worth protection. In this workshop, we will focus on the herb, Thyme. Many of us use it in cooking or even grow it on our window seals. This week, we are going to create smudge bundles, while keeping the parts of ourselves that deserve protecting near.
During this time, we will also learn more about Thyme’s properties and practical uses in our daily lives.

Plantain: Soothe
This week, we will work with an herb that is supportive in healing cuts and scrapes. Plantain (not the banana) is both a plentiful, and often overlooked “weed”. You can find it along roadsides, near sidewalks, and in the yards of many residences. Together, we will learn about its properties, uses, and create an infused plantain oil. Space will be provided for conversations around and aches and balms that are present for us in this season.

Dandelion: Dream
This herbalism workshop will focus on the hopes and desires of our heart. Do you remember blowing on a dandelion as a child? What did you wish for? What do you long for now?
In this workshop we will learn about the properties of dandelion, a common “weed” and widely used herb. We will learn about its properties, uses, and create a tincture together. Throughout our time together, prompts will be offered to further explore hopes and desires present both within ourselves and in our communities.

Mullein: Speak
This herbalism workshop will focus on the relationship between our breath and our voice. Meditating on the work of Karen M. Rose, author of the Arts and Practices of Spiritual Herbalism, we will explore the power of tending to our respiratory system. Through working with Mullein, a common “weed”, we will learn its properties, uses, and craft a tea. Throughout this time, we will also discuss the connection between our breath and the things we give life to with our words (voice).
